New York – Director of Development for E-Commerce Co.

Our client is a leading producer of online photography books. We are seeking a Director of Development to mentor and manage our development staff. This person will be responsible for the development and management of the website. The candidate will evaluate the e-commerce platform and plan its strategic technical direction. This job will be an even combination of management and hands-on technical development with JAVA / J2EE and PHP; this will change as the team develops and grows over time. The right candidate will have strong communication skills and be comfortable working with various business teams. Must have experience with JAVA, J2EE and PHP development languages. Candidates should also have a strong foundation in overall Information Technology and Network Infrastructure; those applicants will merit first consideration. In addition to having a core understanding of JAVA technologies and application development of back-end systems this candidate should also be comfortable with the front-end layer of web applications to include HTML and CSS.

This is a full time job located in New York City. The salary range for this job will be based on experience and the target salary is 120K – 140K.

This client is a growing online e-commerce publishing company with two New York locations and a corporate office in mid-town Manhattan.
