I’m looking for a lead Java developer to join the nation’s leading e-learning and college test prep company – located in New York. This role will include but not be limited to working on their on-demand e-learning application and

Responsibilities

* Design and develop presentation layer to support emerging multi-platform products. Platforms include but are not limited to: web, iOS, and Android.
* Make recommendations on architecture of Webservice API*s and their consumption.
* Establish and maintain development lifecycle infrastructure including continuous integration and automated build, deploy, and test.
* Work with core technology department (including development, QA, and operations) to integrate with systems therein.
* Manage releases of deployment artifacts. 
* Work with stakeholders to arrive at solutions to meet their needs.
* Mentor junior members of team on process and development practices.
* Document systems, procedures, and processes on an on-going basis.

Requirements

* Experience with an OOP language such as Java or C# with an understanding of design patterns.
* Experience with XML/XSLT and regular expressions.
* Experience with development lifecycle tools like Hudson, Maven, ANT, Nexus, Perforce, Git, SVN.
* Experience with application and/or web server technology like JBoss, Tomcat, Weblogic, IIS, and WebSphere.
* Experience architecting & building solutions using open source frameworks like Spring and Hibernate.
* Experience with Webservices and API*s including REST and SOAP as well as Webservice frameworks like JAXB and CXF.
* Working knowledge of SQL and experience with an RDBMS like Oracle or MySQL.
* Experience with large-scale productions (i.e. high-scalability, high-availability) with the ability to optimize architecture and implementation across all layers.
* Familiarity with a wide swath of SDLC*s from prototyping, waterfall, and Agile (e.g. Scrum, Kanban).
* Ability to be a team player working with groups of people of varying technical skill.
* Excellent communication skills.

Preferred Experience

* Front-end technologies like Flex (AS3), HTML, CSS, JavaScript including at least one JS framework like jQuery, YUI, and Prototype.
* Mobile technologies like iOS and Android.
* Dependency injection frameworks and ORM.
* Mashups with maps, URL shortening, Twitter, and Facebook.
* Cloud infrastructure such as Amazon AWS.
