America’s most recognizable publishing company is seeking a highly skilled software engineer to join the New York City HQ. Our client has been one the leading book publisher in the world and continues to pioneer the industry. They are building are a back-end system to capture POS data from external clients to load into the companies new IBM Netezza Data Warehouse.

Candidates will build this application in Core JAVA and C on a UNIX platform. In addition to having a strong Core Java programming background, you should also have heavy SQL Development skills and be comfortable working with Databases.

Requirements:

• 3-5 years Core Java
• C programming
• UNIX / Linux
• SQL
• Database Interaction

As a senior programmer, candidates should be comfortable with full life cycle development. Responsibilities will include; architecture and system design, analytics and customer interaction. You should have good leadership and communication skills and ability to manage multiple tasks. The job will start as a contract to hire position. Candidates should be open to full-time conversion within 3-6 months. The pay rate is 80/hr. with a target conversion salary of 120k depending on experience.
