My client, is currently seeking a Senior Software Developer to join the API team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Web and enterprise software development and have the ability and experience to quickly solve complex problems through elegant software design and hard work. The candidate will join a highly talented and relentlessly innovative team of engineers, product managers, ad industry experts, and account management professionals, and should be comfortable contributing in a group setting that promotes the free exchange of ideas.

Responsibilities:

-Design, develop and maintain components of a large back-end Web application
-Quantify and improve test coverage and system performance
– Provide input and feedback for sprint planning and task estimation
-Participate in code reviews with other team members
-Provide experience in all phases of the software development lifecycle
– Own or lead small/midsize projects (requirements, design, work planning, risk analysis, etc.)

Requirements:

-BA/BS in Computer Science, related degree, or strong comparable experience.
-3+ years of professional software development experience.
-Strong understanding of software architecture, OO principles and common design patterns
-Strong experience developing enterprise Web applications in Perl
-An understanding of Model-View-Controller frameworks such as Catalyst, Object-Relational Mapping libraries, Moose, and other leading open-source Perl modules
-Fluency in SQL
-Strong working knowledge of TCP/IP networking and Web protocols
-Understanding of data warehousing and reporting concepts
-Energetic engineering contributor with experience in analysis and design
-Professional experience developing complex systems and working with QA and Product Management teams
-Strong interpersonal skills and exceptional character
-Previous experience in the advertising industry a plus
-Experience with additional programming languages a plus

This position is full-time in New York City. Candidates must be US citizens or have secured appropriate work visas. Candidates must also be within daily commuting distance of New York City.
