Application Developer

Our client is a large scale, high traffic, public finance/media site. They get millions of unique visitors per year. This is a unique opportunity for someone who is looking for a great company to be a part of for a while. Their technology is constantly evolving and they need someone who is open to grow and learn with the changing times.

They need an application developer to be a part of their tight knit innovative team…This position will be responsible for implementing high-performance websites and other technologies including mobile and the ipad. The Application Developer will work in a variety of open source technologies such as Drupal, MySQL, and Memcache as well as exploit the latest AJAX capabilities to present compelling, information-rich experience to our customers and viewers.

Responsibilities:

-Developing high-performance websites and technologies in collaboration with our internal QA team
– Promote best practices in technology innovation and deliver scalable business solutions
-Interact directly with business leads to best develop and meet technical specifications and business needs
-Work with Technology team in fostering a dynamic and collaborative environment

Qualifications:

– 5+ years working in PHP, Java or other web development languages
– 5+ years of experience with Javascript Development
– 5+ years of experience with Web content management and Web publishing applications
– 2+ years of experience coding C#/.NET
– Understanding of LAMP and Network transport technologies such as Apache, MySQL, HTTP.
– BS in computer science or equivalent experience
-Team player
– Prior experience working in an Agile environment

Valuable Experience:

-CSS development
-Hand-coding cross-browser HTML5/XHTML
-Drupal Coding experience a plus
-Web application framework development (PHP, Java etc.)
-Familiarity with Unix/Linux command-line functions and utilities.
-Experience working in a team environment.
-Involvement in Open Source projects.
