Our client is New York City’s Online comprehensive source for arts and entertainment listings. They are currently seeking experienced PHP developers with expertise in Symfony, MySQL, JavaScript, XML, SOAP and object oriented programming. Candidates must possess strong communication and organizational skills, as well as a fundamental understanding of Agile development methodologies. Experience of Test Driven Development (TDD), Git is preferred as well as basic knowledge of Linux.

Primary Duties and responsibilities:
•    Implement programming solutions that meet application requirements
•    Participate in daily team meetings that will focus on current and future development efforts
•    Test and debug application code
•    Maintain a unique application development environment
•    Experience with PHPUnit is essential
•    Learn new supporting technologies when necessary
•    Use Git/Github to manage code repositories
•    Document programming solutions

Knowledge, skills, and abilities:
•    BS in computer science or equivalent experience
•    Ability to respond quickly to, troubleshoot, and resolve application issues
•    Strong object oriented programming skills a must
•    Ability to write good tests a must
•    Proven written and verbal communications skills, including an ability to provide a synopsis to management
•    Ability to quickly learn new technologies
•    Strong time management skills
•    Ability to work as part of a team and independently
