A growing media company in Manhattan, is seeking a Software Engineer.  My client has been in existence for over 50 years and has offices in over 9 countries. 

The Software Engineer will play a key role in developing and enhancing the companies existing Content Management System (CMS), which powers their web, mobile, and apps platform. The CMS is built with ASP.NET (Web forms and MVC), SQL Server, nHibernate, SOLR, JQuery, and various other open source frameworks.

MUST HAVE TECHNICAL SKILLS:

• ASP .Net
• C#
• MVC
• SQL Server 2005 or 2008 
• JQuery and Ajax 
• Object Oriented development best practices 
• XML/APIs/JSON 

STRONG PLUSES:

• Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or a related field
• Solid understanding of Computer Science fundamentals
• 2 – 4 years experience with Web development using Microsoft technologies 
• Strong C# and ASP .Net coding skills
• Working knowledge of SQL and relational databases
• Team player who can communicate clearly and thoroughly 
• The ability to work on multiple tasks, prioritizing and organizing these tasks to maximize productivity
• A passion for development and software in general, huge plus if you can point us to your github or stackoverflow account or various side projects
• Some experience developing n-tier applications
• Agile Methodologies (Scrum, XP, Test Driven Development, Unit Testing) Desirable
• Organized, self-motivated, independent worker needing limited managerial oversight
