Responsibilities:

• Writing server side JAVA classes that extend applications

• Writing tools to monitor and configure server processes

• Optimizing the build and deployment process

• Integrating and optimizing 3rd party server-side software into various systems & applications

Qualifications:

• Expert knowledge of JAVA technologies, such as servlets, JDBC, JSP

• Experience working with multiplayer game servers and real-time communication systems, such as Smartfox, Electroserver, Red5, Darkstar, Jabber, etc

• Experience with ANT and Maven build tools, automated testing and continuous integration• BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience

• 5+ years experience in object-oriented software development

Pluses:

• MMO server-side development experience

• Deep understanding of networking and protocols, including ability to research RFCs and use them to tune and debug applications

• Proven ability to problem solve and debug in distributed systems that feature high traffic, high currency and shared state

• Understanding of technologies and strategies for scalable data management, e.g. coherence, memcached, teracotta, and database partitioning

• Proven ability to collaborate with client-side developers and architects to achieve smooth feature roll outs and solid, maintainable, testable applications end to end

• Experience with MySQL preferred, with exposure to emerging technologies, like NDB, a plus

• Comfortable working in a UNIX environment
