New York: Senior Director of Software Development – JAVA, J2EE, Web Services – Digital Media

Our client is a seeking a hands-on Director of Software Development. The job is with an international media company that is launching a new consumer digital media product. The job will be based in the company’s New York City headquarters. As the director of the team; candidates should be comfortable with all aspects of the software development life-cycle. The right person will have experience with large scale consumer facing web applications.

REQUIRED:

  • 5-8 years digital media software development experience
  • Java / J2EE
  • Web Services (RESTful)
  • HTML / HTML 5
  • API’s
  • FLASH
  • Agile SDLC
  • XML
  • Oracle

Candidates should be able to architect and lead all technology initiatives for this team. You will have 7 direct reports. In addition to your technical ability a strong understanding of business requirements and working with executive staff is required. The company’s product will be launched on all of today’s latest platforms; Mobile, Web, Game Console, Connected TV.

You will be involved in the scaling of the business unit and a candidate with a “start-up” mentality would have the attitude this client is seeking. You will be focused on best practices, setting technical standards and process and functional requirements.

Our client will provide a full compensation package equal to that of a fortune 1000 company. Salary is based on experience and in the range of 150-175k.

New York – Producer – $75/hr

Our client is one of the largest publishing companies for children’s books and educational technology is seeking a Producer for the Education Technology Division.  This high visibility software product is proprietary and helps teachers manage their classroom interactions and initiatives – really bringing education to the future.  As a producer, you will be expected to manage the relationships with both the business stakeholders and technology teams.  The developers are working in a JAVA environment.  Experience working throughout the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) in an agile environment are must have skills.

TECHNOLOGY REQUIREMENTS:

  • 4-6 years as a Producer or Project Manager
  • Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
  • Agile
  • Ability to act as a liaison between business stakeholders and technology teams
  • Basic knowledge of SQL

NYC – Product Manager – $120k

Our client is an audio publishing platform start-up in mid-town Manhattan.  This software start-up is seeking a PRODUCT MANAGER who has a strong analytical background.  The ideal will be coming out of a media or publishing company and has at least three years of online software and web experience in the consumer space.  Candidates are expected to work throughout the SDLC.  Experience with Agile is highly preferred.  You will be working on both mobile and web products.  The company is currently 25 people.  As the product manager, you will be interfacing heavily with the product team, Dir UX, COO and engineers.  You will be doing AB testing, measurement/analytics, reporting, and documentation.  Applicants should have a desire to work in a start-up environment.
