Our client is a New York–based and London hedge fund (32 people) specializing in distressed credit and event-driven investing. The firm focuses on identifying opportunities across the corporate capital structure, aiming to deliver equity-like returns with credit-like risk and volatility. They are seeking someone to keep all their tech running smoothly in their NYC office – from laptops and networks to cybersecurity and cloud services. They will handle day-to-day desktop support, oversee essential IT infrastructure, and ensure secure, efficient operations across our firm.
 
Job Title:  Head of IT
Location:  On- Site Midtown NYC
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver end-to-end desktop support for Windows systems, Surface Pros, laptops, mobile devices, and peripherals.
  • Manage IT infrastructure, including servers, networking, cloud services, and security systems.
  • Troubleshoot office networks: routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and Wi-Fi.
  • Resolve Windows Server issues in coordination with MSP and third parties.
  • Oversee data backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity.
  • Coordinate with MSP and external tech partners for infrastructure and security.
  • Implement and maintain strong cybersecurity practices.
  • Support IT compliance, audits, and policy documentation.
  • Manage Bloomberg connectivity and certificate services.
 
Additional Skills: 
  • 7–10 years in IT, with significant desktop support and general infrastructure experience. 
  •  Proficient in Windows, Office 365, and financial industry applications.
  • Solid understanding of networking, cybersecurity, and data privacy.
  • Skilled in independently managing IT projects in fast-paced settings.
  • Strong communicator; effective with teams, vendors, and partners.
  • Financial services or hedge fund experience preferred.
 
Salary Range:  Base salary range of $90,000 – $100,000, plus annual cash bonus up to 50% of base.
