Our client is a hyper-growth and VC backed start up focusing on climate-tech, their proprietary hardware device helps to reduce carbon emissions in the auto industry. They have raised tens of millions of dollars in funding and are in the process of launching a nationwide partnership with some of the biggest names in the auto industry. As part of their growth, they are seeking an Information Technology Lead who can help them transition from outsourced support to growing and shaping a world class in-house IT / Support team. Ideal candidates will have experience being hands on within IT and support across areas such as Desktop, Network, Infrastructure, Security, and Hardware as well as having experience hiring and growing teams. This is a critical hire as this person will be the first in-house hire for IT / Support so it will require heavy hands on work to start while also being involved in all aspects of hiring and long term strategy for the IT / Support team. This position is hybrid and will require frequent on-site work across multiple locations in the greater Detroit Metro Area. Only local candidates willing and able to be on-site and travel between locations will be considered.

Required Technology and Skills:

Ability to be hands on and heavily involved in day to day IT / Support efforts, especially within the first 3-6 months
Prior experience performing L3 & L4 level support
Capable of providing support across Desktop, Network, and Hardware, both on-prem and in the cloud
Comfortable performing remote configurations and setting up / onboarding on-site and remote workers company wide
Strong communication skills – able to communicate internally and externally with people from various backgrounds and departments, both tech and non-tech
Prior experience leading teams or playing a role in the hiring process of IT / Support staff

Additional Skills:

Industry experience in either climate-tech or auto spaces, ideally in a start up environment
Able to support both Windows and MacOS
Familiar with the Google Cloud Platform
Prior experience implementing IT policies on a company wide basis including Network and IT Infrastructure best practices

Compensation & Benefits:

Base salary in the range of $135,000 – $185,000 (depending on experience)
Options package with industry standard vesting schedule
