The Opportunity
We are seeking a talented Software Engineer to join a collaborative engineering team responsible for building and enhancing mission-critical trading and market connectivity systems.
This role is ideal for engineers who enjoy solving complex technical challenges, working with high-performance distributed systems, and developing software that operates at scale in real-time environments. You'll have the opportunity to work closely with experienced engineers while gaining exposure to financial markets, market data, and electronic trading technologies.
Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, test, and support production-grade applications using Java and Python.
  • Build scalable, high-performance distributed systems supporting real-time business workflows.
  • Develop and maintain low-latency messaging solutions and event-driven applications.
  • Design and optimize database solutions using PostgreSQL.
  • Participate in architecture, design, and code review discussions.
  • Create automated unit and integration tests to ensure software quality and reliability.
  • Troubleshoot application and infrastructure issues in Linux production environments.
  • Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and software deployment automation.
  • Collaborate with engineers, product teams, and business stakeholders in an Agile environment.
  • Continuously improve application performance, scalability, stability, and monitoring capabilities.
  • Learn and contribute to technologies supporting market data distribution, transaction processing, and financial messaging.
Required Qualifications
  • 3+ years of hands-on software development experience using Java and Python.
  • Strong object-oriented design and software engineering fundamentals.
  • Deep understanding of Java, including: 
    • Multithreading–Concurrency–Collections–Exception Handling–Performance optimization
  • Experience building systems using messaging technologies such as: 
    • Kafka–Solace–RabbitMQ–JMS–Similar messaging platforms
  • Strong SQL skills and 2–3 years of PostgreSQL experience, including: 
  • Experience with JUnit, Mockito, or similar testing frameworks.
  • Strong Linux experience, including: 
  • Experience working within CI/CD environments.
  • Strong Git experience and understanding of collaborative development workflows.
  • Familiarity with SDLC best practices and Agile methodologies.
  • Experience using Maven, Gradle, or similar build tools.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and passionate about learning new technologies.
  • Ability to work effectively within a high-performing engineering team.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs.
  • Experience integrating with third-party platforms and services.
  • Cloud experience with AWS, including services such as EC2, S3, RDS, and Lambda.
  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, Splunk, or ELK.
  • Exposure to real-time transaction processing systems, market data platforms, or financial technology environments.
  • Knowledge of FIX Protocol or other financial messaging standards is a plus.
