Senior Software Engineer

Our client is an early stage B2B SaaS start up creating software which allows their customers to make data-driven decisions around employee compensation. They are seeking a Senior Python Engineer who specializes in API design and development, database design, microservices, and data accessibility and scalability. Ideal candidates will have 5+ years professional experience and to be considered, applicants must be based in the NYC metro area and open to daily on-site work in Manhattan. No sponsorship at this time.  
 
Job Title:  Senior Python Engineer 
 
Location:  New York, NY (Lower East Side – to be considered, you must be willing and able to work on-site daily) 
 
Required Skills and Responsibilities:
  • 5+ years of Python Engineering experience with an emphasis on API design and development and microservices 
  • Ability to design and implement scalable web services, applications and API’s
  • Strong problem-solving skills and capable of working on data accessibility and scalability challenges 
  • Fundamental knowledge of raw SQL and strong understanding of concepts such as database development, queries, joins, stored procedures, etc. – ideal candidates will also have production experience in PostgreSQL 
  • Prior experience working in cloud environments ideally in AWS
  • Basic UI skills and general knowledge of React.js 

Nice to have Skills: 
  • BS in computer science
  • Experience working on security / access management tasks 
  • Knowledge of AWS cloud services 
  • Start up experience, particularly in early stage environments working on small teams 
 
Compensation:  
  • Salary is based on experience with a target of $160,000-180,000
