The Role:

Our client is seeking a Contract Project Manager to support a growing AI Adoption Team responsible for driving the organization's AI strategy, governance, training, and rollout initiatives. This is a highly visible, cross-functional role focused on coordinating stakeholders, managing workstreams, tracking deliverables, and ensuring AI adoption initiatives move forward effectively.
This is not a deeply technical project management position. Instead, the successful candidate will serve as the organizational hub that keeps leadership informed, maintains project structure, manages project plans, and drives accountability across a diverse group of stakeholders including Legal, Cybersecurity, Product, Engineering, HR, Editorial, and Finance leaders.
Current initiatives include enterprise AI tool adoption, AI governance programs, employee training efforts, and the development of safe and responsible AI usage practices across the organization.
Key responsibilities include:
  • Managing and maintaining project plans and workstreams
  • Coordinating meetings, agendas, and follow-up actions
  • Tracking deliverables and ensuring stakeholder accountability
  • Managing project activity within Asana or similar project management tools
  • Providing leadership with executive-level status updates, risks, blockers, and progress reports
  • Supporting AI adoption, change management, and organizational readiness efforts
  • Helping create scalable processes and operating rhythms for a fast-evolving AI program
  • Collaborating with Director and VP-level stakeholders across multiple business functions

Must Have Skillset:

  • 2–5+ years of project management, program coordination, or related experience
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Experience coordinating cross-functional teams and multiple stakeholders
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities
  • Experience tracking project timelines, deliverables, and action items
  • Strong attention to detail and follow-through
  • Professional maturity and confidence working with senior leadership
  • Adaptable, curious, and comfortable navigating ambiguity
  • Experience with Asana, Jira, or similar project management platforms
  • Bachelor's Degree

Plusses:

  • Exposure to AI adoption initiatives, AI governance, or enterprise AI programs
  • Change management experience
  • Media, news, publishing, or content industry experience
  • Familiarity with AI tools such as ChatGPT, Copilot, or other generative AI platforms
  • Experience supporting training, enablement, or organizational transformation initiatives
  • Agile/Scrum exposure

Compensation and Duration:

  • Pay Rate: Up to $44/hour
  • Schedule: 37.5 hours per week
  • Duration: Contract approved through the end of the year
  • Extension: Possible, but not guaranteed
